This project allowed for an extension to an existing quarry and the road based transport impacts required detailed assessment due to the rural nature of the setting and the villages that the heavy transport had to travel through. The project work included extensive data collection and review, as well as public and authority consultation. The assessment demonstrated that the impact of the traffic on the major access routes was within acceptable limits set out by the RMS and identified those intersections that needed upgrading to safely accommodate the traffic movements.
