The on-going development of the cycle routes across Newcastle highlighted safety concerns for cyclists / pedestrian crossing Maud Street in Waratah. This crossing forms part of the major commuter route between the Newcastle CBD and the University. Extensive surveys were completed to document the existing demands and highlight any concerns with regard to road safety and impacts upon the local roads.
