The development of the major train support facility at Hexham required a new access to be constructed off an existing grade separated interchange and the management of traffic entering and exiting the construction site. The CTMP allowed for the high volume of inbound and outbound truck movements and ensured that road safety for the existing drivers along the New England Highway was maintained in accordance with the requirements of the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). A detailed Traffic Control Plan was prepared to ensure road safety was maintained and delays were managed for existing road users.
