Cooks Hill Traffic Study, Newcastle
The on-going transformation of the city of Newcastle has altered traffic patterns and demands and as part of this, traffic controls and restrictions through the Cooks Hill area have been reviewed in detail for Council. The study work involved extensive data collection and review of studies to determine options for altering the existing traffic controls in this busy inner city suburb, to allow for improved accessibility balanced against the desire not to encourage rat running through the local street. The study highlighted a number of options for altering the traffic movements and for improving parking provision in this area to satisfy both the residential community and the demands associated with the entertainment precinct.
